The Yorkshire Cycle Festival returns in June 2026 for a full weekend celebrating cycling in all its forms. Taking place at Driffield Showground, the event offers a free and family friendly day out for visitors from across the UK.
The Festival brings together cycling enthusiasts of all ages and interests. Entry and parking are free, making it an accessible option for individuals, families and groups.
The venue is largely flat and outdoors, with multiple accessible toilet facilities available. Children are particularly well catered for, with a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere throughout the weekend.
Visitors bringing a bike, or arriving by bike, are encouraged to join the free led rides. Routes explore the quiet lanes of the Yorkshire Wolds, with options ranging from short and gentle rides to longer and more challenging distances. Some routes include café stops and coastal destinations.
For those wishing to stay overnight, the Festival offers camping for tents, motorhomes and caravans, alongside glamping options. Booking a pitch in advance is recommended for those planning to make a full weekend of the event.
The Yorkshire Cycle Festival is run entirely by volunteers and brings together several established cycling communities, including the York Cycle Rally, the Retrobike Show and the 20 inch Show. Hundreds of clubs, exhibitors and traders attend each year, creating a diverse and inclusive cycling showcase.
Driffield is approximately 30 miles east of York, with a typical driving time of around 50 minutes. Free parking is available on arrival.
Driffield railway station is around a 15 minute walk or a 5 minute cycle from the Showground. The station is served by direct hourly trains from York, with additional services available via connecting routes. Several local bus services also operate in the area.
