People across Yorkshire are invited to take part in this year’s Alzheimer’s Society Memory Walks, joining thousands across the UK to help end the impact of dementia.
This autumn, 12 Memory Walks will take place across England, Wales and Northern Ireland, including a walk in Leeds.
Individuals, families, friends and groups can also organise their own Memory Walk at a time and place that suits them, helping to raise funds for dementia support and research.
One in three people born today will develop dementia in their lifetime. Participants are encouraged to walk for those they love, those they have lost and everyone currently living with dementia.
Alzheimer’s Society provides help and hope for around one million people living with dementia in the UK, including more than 66,000 people across Yorkshire. With a suggested fundraising target of £175 per person, every pound raised supports vital services and funds dementia research.
