Leeds city Museum

About

Set in the impressive former Mechanics Institute building, this city centre museum celebrates Leeds and is home to impressive collections.

The Life on Earth gallery showcases remarkable animal and plant specimens and provides an insight into climate change and its impact on the natural world. Voices of Asia celebrates Leeds links with the world’s largest continent, and upstairs you can discover the history of Leeds along with changing community displays. On the top floor the Ancient Worlds gallery houses some of the oldest artefacts.

Take a break in the Herbarium Café and see some of the museum’s botany collection on the walls!
