Free guided tours (approx. 75 mins) are available. No booking is required – simply meet at the West Doors. Bespoke tours can also be arranged.
Founded in 1069, Selby Abbey was one of Yorkshire’s wealthiest and most influential monasteries, later becoming one of the few northern abbeys granted the prestigious status of a Mitred Abbey. It survived fire, Reformation and restoration, and remains the only complete Benedictine abbey church in Yorkshire still in use today.
