History and Heritage

Sledmere House has been home to the Sykes family for over 250 years. Built in 1751, the house combines the grandeur of Georgian architecture with the warmth of a family home. Surviving a devastating fire in 1911, Sledmere was restored and now showcases both historical and contemporary charm.

Gardens and Grounds

The Walled Garden at Sledmere offers a blend of traditional and contemporary designs, with vibrant planting areas and serene landscapes. Visitors can also enjoy the vast parkland, perfect for picnics and leisurely walks.

Opening Times: Wednesday to Sunday, 10am – 5pm (Closed Mondays except Bank Holidays)
Café Hours: 9:30am – 4:30pm (last food orders at 3:30pm)
Dogs: Dogs are welcome if kept on a lead.
