In 1897, this splendid townhouse was acquired by Frank Green, the grandson of a prominent industrialist. With remarkable speed, by 1900, Frank Green had meticulously transformed it into an opulently adorned residence, perfectly prepared to host Edward VII.

House

This townhouse, acquired by Frank Green in 1897, has undergone a transformation into the captivating showpiece it is today. Visitors can explore its history on guided tours available from April to October and on Sundays. For a deeper dive into the house’s past and its former residents, consider the specialized tours. The house also welcomes guests during the festive season when it is beautifully decorated for Christmas, with a new theme to enchant visitors each year.

Café

Descend into the basement café, where a seasonally changing menu awaits in a unique setting. As you enjoy your refreshments, there’s a selection of second-hand books available for reading or purchase with a voluntary donation. The café welcomes visitors on open days, and there’s no admission fee.

Opening Times

From April to October, visitors can explore Treasurer’s House via guided tours, with the last tour departing at 3 pm. During November and December, no advance booking is required, and the last entry is at 3:15 pm.
