This family-friendly event blends history, science and creativity. Visitors can follow an intergalactic trail around the castle grounds, uncover what people in medieval times believed about the cosmos, and enjoy themed crafts in the Activity Zone. With something for children of all ages, it’s a fun and imaginative way to spend a half term day out.
This is a free event for all families. No booking is required except for the SEND session.
Pontefract Castle offers open outdoor spaces and a welcoming Activity Zone for hands-on craft sessions. The SEND version of the event provides a quieter environment with reduced capacity. Families are encouraged to dress warmly and allow time to explore the historic site alongside the activities.
