This immersive weekend explores the historic estate’s direct ancestral links to Maryland in the USA through the Calvert family and the Barons Baltimore. Visitors can experience the sights, sounds, and authentic atmosphere of an 18th-century military encampment on the west lawn.

Event entry is included with standard day admission to the hall and gardens. Children under 5 enter free. Free admission is available to carers of disabled visitors. Historic Houses members receive free entry upon showing a valid pass at reception.

Kiplin Hall and Gardens is situated near Scorton, Richmond, North Yorkshire, DL10 6AT. The venue is located midway between Northallerton and Richmond off the B6271, approximately 5 miles east of the A1. For visitors travelling by public transport, the number 55 bus service runs between Richmond and Northallerton. Parking is located close to the front of the hall. Well-behaved dogs are welcome on leads within the grounds and inside the cafe, but are not permitted inside the hall itself. Please note that the upper floors of the hall are accessed via two long shallow staircases and there is no lift access, though ground floor resources and photographs are available.
