Celebrating Regional Creativity in a Historic Setting

Selby Abbey will host a new exhibition from the East Riding Artists (ERA), bringing an array of paintings and three-dimensional artworks to this iconic setting. Running from 5 to 18 April 2025, the Art in the Aisles exhibition will feature work from one of the largest regional arts collectives in Yorkshire.

Showcasing a Diverse Range of Artistic Talent

The exhibition highlights a broad mix of artistic styles and mediums, many of which explore themes drawn from the natural and cultural landscapes of East Yorkshire. Most of the pieces on display will be available for purchase, offering visitors the opportunity to take home original artwork.

Selby Abbey, a landmark of historical and architectural significance, provides a striking backdrop for the exhibition. Located in the heart of the market town of Selby, the venue is easily accessible, with convenient town-centre parking available nearby.

About East Riding Artists (ERA)

ERA is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to supporting and promoting the work of artists and makers across East Yorkshire. With over 100 members, the group represents a diverse community of:

• Sculptors
• Ceramicists
• Jewellery-makers
• Mixed-media artists

Each artist is featured on the ERA website and in a printed directory, which is freely distributed across the region. The group’s primary mission is to enhance the visibility of local creative talent and contribute to the region’s cultural and economic development.
