Experience a Victorian Christmas
Step back in time and immerse yourself in the magic of a traditional Victorian Christmas at York Castle Museum. From 16 November, the museum’s famous Victorian street, Kirkgate, transforms into a twinkling festive wonderland. Entry to Kirkgate is included with admission.
Explore beautifully decorated period rooms, enjoy immersive experiences for all ages, and capture the festive spirit with photo opportunities in a sleigh and hands-on workshops.

- Children’s Decoration-Making Workshop: A fun activity perfect for younger visitors.
- Storycraft Theatre: Under 5s will enjoy enchanting storytelling sessions.
Workshops for Adults
Adults can embrace their creativity with festive workshops:
- 17 December & 18 December, 6:30pm – 8:30pm: An Evening with Ebenezer Scrooge (£23 per person).
- 30 November, 10am – 1pm: Lino-printing Christmas Cards Workshop (£20 per person).
- 7 December, 10:30am – 12:30pm: Christmas Wreath Making Workshop (£30 per person).
- 14 December, 10am – 1pm: Lino-printing Christmas Wrapping Paper Workshop (£20 per person).
