From Wednesday, 12th February to Sunday, 2nd March 2025, the iconic South Transept of York Minster will come alive with spectacular projections celebrating York’s unique wildlife as part of the acclaimed Colour & Light event. This free event promises an enchanting experience for visitors of all ages.
Building on the success of past editions, Colour & Light 2025 aims to highlight York’s natural beauty, cultural heritage, and community spirit. The event is a collaboration between York BID and York Minster, with funding from the UK government’s Shared Prosperity Fund.
According to Carl Alsop, Operations Manager at York BID, the event supports local businesses and reinforces York’s vibrant evening economy: “By encouraging families and visitors to explore the city centre during these quieter months, we’re not only creating magical experiences but also supporting local businesses.”
Lisa Power, York Minster’s Head of Events and Participation, added: “This year’s projections will bring York Minster’s heritage to life through a spectacular display of wildlife and nature.”
