Help to find and count as much nature as you can in just one day at Shire Brook Valley Nature Reserve!

Explore the reserve or get involved in many of the free activities to record the species found on site.

Start at the visitor centre to find out what is happening during the day.

Activities include:

• Taking a look at some magnificent moths
• Pond dipping
• River dipping *please wear or bring wellies for this activity
• Sweep netting for invertebrates
• Big Butterfly Count
• Bumblebee walk
• Guided Walks
• Dragonfly Trail
• Making your own dragonfly craft

Access

Most of Shire Brook Valley is accessible however some paths are uneven. Please wear appropriate footwear.
There is a free car park off Stone Lane just before the visitor centre, S13 7BR.
The 52 bus route goes from Hillsborough through Sheffield City Centre to Woodhouse, passing Shire Brook Valley on the way.
The visitor centre will be open for refreshments between 11am – 4pm.
