Yorkshire Sculpture Park (YSP) is inviting visitors to enjoy a creative and atmospheric Christmas in 2025, with a seasonal programme that brings together art, nature and winter celebrations. From artist-led workshops and family activities to festive dining and an immersive installation, the Park will offer a memorable day out for visitors of all ages.

Seasonal Highlights

The centrepiece of this year’s winter programme will be an immersive display in the Chapel by internationally acclaimed experiential artist collective Marshmallow Laser Feast, celebrating the natural world and the interconnectedness of all living things. This experience is included with standard YSP admission.

Creative Workshops and Making Activities

YSP’s winter programme features hands-on making sessions for adults and families. All workshops can be booked via the YSP website and will be delivered by experienced artists who will support participants to create their own work.

    Saturday 29 November 2025, sessions at 10:00, 11:30, 13:15 and 14:45.
    Fee: £45 per participant.
  • Hand-building Folk Art Whistles with Emma Carlow
    Wednesday 10 December 2025, 09:00–12:00 and 13:00–16:00.
    Fee: £60 per participant.
  • Enamel Jewellery and Decoration Making with Rachel Brown
    Saturday 13 December 2025, 10:00–12:30 and 13:30–16:00.
    Fee: £60 per participant.

Alongside the bookable sessions, families can drop in to make festive creations together in the Bothy Gallery every weekend in the run up to Christmas.

    Free with YSP admission.
  • Little Wild Wood, YSP’s outdoor natural play area, will be lit for the season and available for younger visitors to explore in a safe space close to YSP Centre.
  • Tales in the Gallery: William Kentridge
    Saturday 22 November 2025, 11:00–12:00 and 14:00–15:00, and Saturday 20 December 2025, 11:00–12:00 and 14:00–15:00.

Exhibitions

A vibrant new exhibition by painter and printmaker Andrew Waddington opens on 15 November 2025. Betwixt and Between, The Poetry of Landscape presents paintings, original drawings and prints inspired by the Cornish and Yorkshire landscapes. All works will be available to purchase.

YSP’s wider programme continues with MADE, running from 13 October 2025 to 5 April 2026, which will showcase high quality crafted works, ideal for visitors looking for original Christmas gifts. Free with YSP admission.

Seasonal Dining and Evenings at YSP

Visitors can make their festive visit even more special with Christmas dining at YSP.

  • Christmas by Candlelight at The Weston
    Friday 12 and Saturday 13 December 2025. Arrival from 19:00, dinner served at 19:45.
    Guests will be welcomed with mulled cider and live music, followed by a three-course festive menu made from locally sourced ingredients, with views across the Park.
    Price: £65 per person.
  • Brass Christmas
    Saturday 6 December 2025. Arrival from 19:00, dinner served at 19:45.
    Price: £55 per person.
  • Christmas Roast at The Kitchen Café
    Every Sunday in December 2025, 12:00–15:00.
    Prices from £9.50 to £13.95, ideal for relaxed family dining.

Christmas Shopping at YSP

YSP’s shops will be stocked with handmade decorations, artisan crafts, books and gifts inspired by art and nature. The Park will also take part in the national initiative Museum Shop Sunday on Sunday 30 November 2025, offering 20% off selected ranges in store and online, providing an opportunity to support a cultural charity through Christmas shopping.

Visit Information

YSP is a registered charity that works to make outstanding art and landscape accessible to everyone. Admission is free for children and young people aged 18 and under. Adult admission is £11 with Gift Aid, which makes YSP one of the best value winter days out in Yorkshire. Parking is free, and access to The Weston restaurant and Gallery is complimentary. Visitors are encouraged to book online in advance, particularly during busy festive periods.
