After an incredible 8-year run, Illuminate the Gardens returns to the Sheffield Botanical Gardens from 7th to 9th November 2025 for a spectacular farewell celebration. Known for transforming the historic gardens into a vibrant wonderland of light, performance, and fireworks, this immersive event is more than just a display – it’s a full sensory experience for all ages. Expect illuminated art, magical walkabout acts, delicious street food and a stunning grand finale as the gardens say goodbye in style.

Why Visit?

This final edition promises to be the most magical yet, with over 10 breathtaking illuminated installations bringing new life to the gardens. From glowing tunnels to interactive sculptures, there’s something to explore around every corner. Walkabout performers will add to the fantasy, and two fireworks displays each night – including an earlier low-bangs show for younger visitors – will light up the skies. Light sequences from the glasshouse and family-friendly activities will ensure a packed night of fun for all.

Plan Your Visit

Illuminate the Gardens takes place within Sheffield Botanical Gardens, with entry via Thompson Road (S11 8RB) or through the Clarkehouse Road archway (S10 2LN). The event is easily accessible by public transport, with multiple buses serving both entrances. Due to limited parking in the area, visitors are encouraged to travel by bus or walk wherever possible.

Facilities on site include accessible toilets and baby changing areas near the Thompson Road entrance and The Curator’s House. Additional portaloos will also be available around the site. The event includes a designated Quiet Zone for visitors who may require a calm space away from the main activity areas.
