Step into the life of an authentic Norse warrior at the JORVIK Viking Festival 2025, the largest Viking Festival in Europe. Taking place in York from 17–23 February 2025, this event promises a blend of thrilling battles, historic crafts, and immersive celebrations that capture the essence of Viking life.

New Events for 2025

• Leatherworking Workshop: Craft your own leather bracers using traditional tools.
  Date: Monday, 17 February 2025 (10am–1pm) at Barley Hall
  Cost: £40 per person (includes materials)
• Rum Tasting with Villains Rum: Learn the story of Queen Gunnhildr and taste five unique spirits, including the exclusive Queen Gunnhildr Honey Rum.
  Date: Tuesday, 18 February 2025 (7:30pm) at Barley Hall
  Cost: £35 per person
• Unfeasibly Large Dungeons & Dragons: Join a massive game with 34 players and six characters.
  Date: Thursday, 20 February 2025 (7pm) at Barley Hall
  Cost: £25 per person

Festival Highlights

Alongside new events, traditional favourites return to delight visitors:

• Viking Feast: A candlelit three-course meal inspired by Viking cuisine with live entertainment and storytelling.
  Date: Tuesday, 18 February 2025 at Merchant Adventurers Hall
  Cost: £95 per person
  Note: Includes contests for Best Dressed Viking and Best Beard. Booking closes 31 January 2025.
• Helen Thirza Addyman Lecture: Explore 40 years of the JORVIK Viking Centre with Dr Chris Tuckley and a new documentary.
  Date: Thursday, 20 February 2025 (8pm) at the National Centre for Early Music

Festival Fringe Events

• Norse Tattoo Expo: Featuring top Nordic tattoo artists from around the world.
• Mythos: Ragnarok: A wrestling performance that retells the Viking apocalypse.
  Venue: York Barbican, Saturday evening.
• Evening Spectacular: A breathtaking event at the Eye of York following Mythos: Ragnarok.
