Kirkstall Brewery's Grand Beer Festival 2024

Kirkstall Brewery has announced the return of its celebrated beer festival, THE GREAT EXHIBITION OF PRIZE ALES. This event, set during the early May Bank Holiday, brings together an array of breweries from across the nation. They will be competing in ten historic beer style categories, vying for the coveted medals.

Three Days of Beer Heritage and Fun

  • Dates: 3rd, 4th, and 5th of May at the Kirkstall Brewery.
  • Tickets: Each ticket includes entry, a unique glass, programme, and a beer token, with early bird pricing until 1st March.

Chris Hall, Brand Manager and organiser, said: “Last year we established a new kind of beer festival. We had over thirty-five breweries presenting beers inspired by various historic periods, including a recreation of a Bronze Age Ale!”

Participating Breweries and Highlights

Confirmed attendees include:

  • Local breweries like Northern Monk and North.
  • Overall champion medal winner, Amity Brew Co.
  • Breweries from afar like London’s The Five Points and Scotland’s Newbarns Brewery.

The festival features a broad spectrum of historic beer styles, offering everything from Pale Ales to barrel-aged Imperial Stouts.

“This year, we’re aiming for an even grander experience,” added Hall. “We’ll have a more diverse range of beers, local spirits, soft drinks, great food, and live music.”

Local Food and Live Music

Food traders include:

  • Manjit’s Kitchen, Mr D’s Magnificent Pie Machine, and ‘The Aire Fryer’
  • Fresh pizza from Kirkstall’s Taproom & Kitchen

Live music acts, yet to be announced, will add to the historic ambiance.

Hall also mentioned: “There will be more surprises this year, and we encourage visitors to join in the spirit by dressing in period costume.”
