Launching this September, Lick of Paint Festival is Sheffield’s brand new street art and mural celebration, taking place across the weekend of 6 – 7 September 2025. This artist-led event aims to transform public spaces across the city with bold, high-quality work from some of the most exciting creatives in the North.
With roots in the city’s graffiti heritage and paint jam culture, the festival will feature live mural painting, free workshops, artist talks, and vibrant community events – all with a strong emphasis on inclusion, representation and creative impact.
Lick of Paint Festival is the creation of Sheffield-based artist Megan Russell (aka Peachzz) and Alastair Flindall, who aim to make this a biennial event while developing year-round art projects that brighten up everyday spaces. They’re committed to supporting local creatives, improving fair access to public commissions, and delivering art that connects people and place.
