Why Visit?

Visitors can experience city-wide illuminated artworks, a live festive switch-on event, and a community parade celebrating local wildlife and nature in a vibrant, family-friendly outdoor atmosphere.

Event Highlights

• Nature-themed light art trail featuring six installations across the city centre.
• Festive Light Switch-On on Friday 13 November at 5:30pm in the Cathedral Precinct with live entertainment compered by Rhubarb Radio.
• Nature’s Return illuminated parade on Saturday 14 November featuring glowing creatures and a towering Mother Nature figure.
• Official Event Hub at WX Wakefield Exchange offering trail maps, street food and an installation.
• Free family-friendly outdoor activities across both evenings.

The event hub is located at WX Wakefield Exchange where trail maps and street food are available. The event takes place across Wakefield City Centre, WF1 1HG. Access facilities include step-free access, wheelchair accessibility, accessible toilets, Changing Places facilities, accessible car parking, baby changing facilities, audio description and assistance dogs welcome.
