Santa’s Woodland Grotto and a host of festive characters are coming to Tropical Butterfly House in North Anston, Sheffield, for the brand-new Magical Christmas Experience. Running from Saturday 6th to Wednesday 24th December 2025, this family favourite event spreads magic, joy and festive cheer throughout the park, complete with themed trails, animal encounters, and the return of Santa’s enchanting Woodland Grotto.

Why Visit?

The Magical Christmas Experience transforms Tropical Butterfly House into a festive wonderland, filled with storytelling, laughter and plenty of surprises. Children can meet Santa and Mrs Claus in the Woodland Grotto, decorate gingerbread in the Elf’s Workshop, and meet a cast of beloved Christmas characters from ice queens and snowmen to mischievous elves and green grouches. Alongside the festive fun, visitors can enjoy the park’s wildlife, animal encounters, and family-friendly attractions.

With magical trails, photo opportunities, and festive treats available throughout, this is the perfect way to get into the Christmas spirit while enjoying one of South Yorkshire’s most popular family attractions.

What To Expect

• Meet Santa and his helper in the Woodland Grotto (11:00am–3:00pm)
• Christmas character meet & greets featuring favourites like the Ice Queen, Blue Alien Buddy, and the Green Grouch (varies between dates)
• Elf’s Workshop with cookie decorating, reindeer food making, and letter writing to Santa
• Elf Explorer Trail with fun challenges and a sweet treat reward
• Animal encounters, keeper talks and the festive Animal Antics show
• Festive tractor-trailer rides, carols with singing reindeer and plenty of photo opportunities
• Seasonal food and drink at Lottie’s Coffee Lounge, including Gingerbread Lattes and hot chocolates

Entry

Normal park admission prices apply, and further additions to the Magical Christmas Experience may be chargeable (see website for details): Adults £17.95, Children (aged 2–15) £16.95, Students and Senior Citizens £16.95, Carers £9.45, with family tickets from £63. Under 2s go free. A small £0.30 booking fee applies to all tickets. Optional Santa gifts can also be purchased online or on the day for £8.50 per child.
