The Oxenhope Charity Straw Race returns on Sunday, 5th July 2025, bringing with it a day of fun, fancy dress, and plenty of pints! This unique charity event, which began as a bet between two local farmers in the 1970s, has grown into a well-loved tradition that has raised over £450,000 for local charities, including Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice and Haworth Riding for the Disabled.

• A 2.5-mile race around the village of Oxenhope, where teams of two (or more) race between six pubs while carrying a 20kg bale of straw.

• All proceeds raised support local charities, making it a wonderful community-driven event.
