Real Markets returns to Ripley Castle on Sunday 30 November, 10am to 3pm, with a festive Christmas market that offers free entry to the market, Castle grounds and gardens. Visitors can enjoy a relaxed day of Christmas shopping in a historic Yorkshire setting.
Now in its third year, Real Markets at Ripley Castle has become a regular date in the calendar, transforming the Castle’s historic Courtyard on the last Sunday of each month. The Christmas edition brings together more than 40 Yorkshire based traders, all carefully selected for the quality and individuality of their products.
Shoppers can browse a wide mix of food, drink, crafts and seasonal gifts, ideal for Christmas presents, stocking fillers or a treat to take home.
All stallholders are independent Yorkshire businesses that make or produce their own goods, or specialise in a particular product. The line up is set to include:
Confirmed traders include:
There will be plenty of opportunities to talk directly with the makers, bakers and artists at the stalls, learn more about their craft and enjoy a genuinely local shopping experience.
Alongside the stalls, visitors can enjoy:
Ripley based home interiors and clothing boutique Fizzy Fox will also join the market for the first time, showcasing its latest collections.
Free admission to the market also includes complimentary access to Ripley Castle’s gardens and grounds, giving visitors the chance to turn their Christmas shopping trip into a full day out.
Real Markets continues to support the local community by offering a free stall at each event to a local charity or community group. The Christmas market will host the local RSPB branch, following support at previous markets for organisations such as Harrogate Cat Rescue and Ripley Endowed CofE Primary School.
Real Markets is known for bringing together independent producers and makers in carefully curated outdoor markets. According to organiser Lucy Allen, the Ripley Castle Christmas market is an ideal place to stock up on handmade festive food and gifts that cannot be found on the high street, while also enjoying free access to the Castle gardens and grounds with family and friends, including dogs.
