This March, the Ryedale Festival extends its musical offerings with two Spring Weekends, celebrating local talent and welcoming internationally renowned performers.
Weekend 1: Sounds of Ryedale
Curated by Artistic Partner Alison Davis, the first weekend highlights the creativity and talent of Ryedale’s local choirs.
- Friday, 21 March 2025: Chanticleer performs an engaging programme from medieval to contemporary music. They are joined by the Barbershop group Main Street Sound and the youth choir The Young Crescendos, whose motto is “Sing – Have fun – Build Confidence”.
- Saturday, 22 March 2025: Renowned choirs Harmonia and Sound Fellows deliver a mix of jazz, folk, musical theatre, and classical pieces. The evening, hosted by writer Martin Vander Weyer, features music and poetry.
“I’m thrilled to curate this celebration of local talent and creativity. Choral singing uplifts and connects people, and I’m excited to share these remarkable performances with new audiences.” – Alison Davis, Artistic Partner
