The Saltaire Living Advent Calendar returns this December, illuminating the historic village with festive creativity and community spirit. Running from Monday 1st December 2025 to Thursday 1st January 2026, the event will once again transform homes, shops and community buildings into a glowing outdoor gallery. Each evening in the lead-up to Christmas, a new window will be revealed, bringing light, colour and imagination to the streets of Saltaire.

Why Visit?

Since its beginning in 2006, the Saltaire Living Advent Calendar has become one of Yorkshire’s most charming festive traditions. Each year, residents and local artists design and display unique illuminated windows, turning the UNESCO World Heritage village into a winter wonderland. It’s a beautiful, family-friendly way to enjoy the run-up to Christmas, inviting visitors to stroll through the streets and admire the artistry and imagination on show.

Entry

The Saltaire Living Advent Calendar is completely free to enjoy, with no tickets required. Visitors are encouraged to explore at their own pace and support local shops, cafés and community venues along the way.

Plan Your Visit

The event takes place throughout the village of Saltaire, near Shipley, BD18. Saltaire is easily accessible by train and bus, with parking available at Salts Mill and nearby car parks. Windows are best viewed between 4:00pm and 10:30pm each evening, and all remain illuminated until 1st January. Comfortable footwear and warm clothing are recommended for evening walks around the village.
