Skipton’s much-loved Christmas Markets return for two festive Sundays on the town’s historic High Street. Expect a lively, family-friendly atmosphere with local makers, tempting street food and live entertainment bringing seasonal cheer to one of Yorkshire’s most picturesque market towns. With independent shops and cosy cafés lining the route, it’s an easy day out for browsing, eating and picking up gifts.
These markets showcase the best of Skipton’s community spirit and independent scene. Visitors can discover artisan gifts, sample festive food and drink, and enjoy live music that adds to the warm seasonal buzz along the wide, pedestrian-friendly High Street.
It’s also a great excuse to explore the town itself — from charming side streets and heritage landmarks to welcoming pubs and tearooms — making a festive shopping trip feel like a winter day out.
Free entry. Visitors pay for food, drink and any purchases from stalls or local businesses. Some activities or attractions may carry a small additional charge.
Venue: Skipton High Street, Skipton, North Yorkshire, BD23. The markets take place outdoors along the High Street in the town centre. Skipton railway station is within walking distance, with regular services from Leeds and Bradford; local buses also serve the town centre. Town-centre car parks are available but can fill quickly on event days, so arriving early or using public transport is recommended. Surfaces are generally level with step-free routes along the High Street; it can be busy at peak times, so allow extra time for wheelchairs and pushchairs.
