National healthcare charity Sue Ryder is inviting households across Leeds to take part in its Christmas Treecycling service in January 2026. The initiative will help raise vital funds so that families can continue to receive expert palliative care and bereavement support.
Residents can register to have their real Christmas tree collected directly from their home for an optional donation to Sue Ryder. A team of trusted volunteers will visit the property and remove the tree from the front door, garden or driveway. After collection, every tree will be recycled in an environmentally responsible way.
Tree collections in Leeds will take place from Wednesday 7 January to Tuesday 13 January 2026.
The service is available to households in the following Leeds postcodes:
All collected trees will be recycled into compost or wood chippings. These will then be used in local parks and woodlands or for the generation of green energy. This ensures trees are disposed of responsibly while also supporting the local environment.
Registrations for tree collections open on 1 November 2025. Residents are encouraged to reserve a slot as early as possible.
The deadline to book a collection is midnight on Sunday 4 January 2026.
Bookings can be made online at www.sueryder.org/treeleeds.
