Under the Light brings a vibrant display of plant-based photographic prints to Darley Street Market from 10 to 24 January 2026. Created by Bradford artist Caro Blount-Shah, the installation transforms café windows with colourful anthotype prints made using natural, light-sensitive plant juices.
Darley Street Market, 16–24 Darley Street, Bradford, BD1 3HH
Under the Light offers a unique look at sustainable, eco-friendly photography. Using juices from edible plants such as turmeric, beetroot and spinach, the artwork celebrates natural colour and the foods we can grow or forage. The exhibition also highlights Caro’s research into environmentally conscious art-making and her hands-on approach to experimenting with sunlight and UV exposure.
This is a free exhibition open to all visitors.
Under the Light runs at Darley Street Market throughout January, with artworks visible each evening from 5:00 PM. Visitors can explore the market, view the installation at their own pace and enjoy the colourful plant-based prints created specifically for the venue’s café windows.
Darley Street Market offers level access and is suitable for most visitors. Assistance dogs are welcome, and the space includes accessible routes around the market area.
