Departing from Clayton West Station under the cover of darkness, this immersive steam train journey will transport you to an unknown destination, where eerie surprises and ghoulish encounters await. With fancy dress encouraged and a chilling atmosphere from the moment you arrive, it’s an unmissable Halloween event for thrill-seekers.

This is no ordinary train ride — it’s a full-on Halloween adventure designed to scare, entertain and delight. The combination of steam train travel, atmospheric lighting, costumed characters and unexpected frights makes for an unforgettable evening.
With rides on the Clayton Flyer miniature railway and access to The Firebox Café included, it’s the perfect night out for families with older children, groups of friends or anyone looking to embrace the spooky season in style.
Adults £9.95, Children (5–16) £9.95. Children under 5 are not admitted. Tickets must be booked in advance for a specific departure time; late arrivals may not be accommodated.
Venue: Clayton West Station, Whistlestop Valley, Park Mill Way, Clayton West, Huddersfield, HD8 9XJ. The station is signposted from the A636 between Denby Dale and Scissett. Free parking is available on site. The platform and café are accessible, though the ghost train experience may involve some uneven ground and low lighting. Visitors should arrive at least 20 minutes before their booked departure time.
