Knaresborough’s historic Market Place will be the heart of this year’s Christmas Market weekend, taking place on Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 December. From 10am to 5pm each day, visitors can browse stalls brimming with festive goods, sample seasonal treats, and enjoy a full weekend of entertainment. With independent shops, cosy cafés and characterful pubs throughout the town, there’s every reason to stay a little longer and explore beyond the market square.
Saturday 6 – Sunday 7 December 2025, 10:00 – 17:00
Few places capture the charm of the festive season quite like Knaresborough. The market transforms the historic centre into a bustling hub of colour, music and aromas, with the town’s medieval streets and riverside walks adding to the appeal. It’s a chance to shop for unique gifts, support local makers and soak up a true Yorkshire Christmas atmosphere.
Alongside the market, visitors can enjoy street performances, festive music and the town’s own attractions, from its independent galleries to its famous viaduct views. It’s an event that blends tradition with local creativity, making it a highlight in the region’s winter calendar.
Free entry to the market and entertainment. Food, drink and purchases from stalls or shops are paid for separately.
Venue: Market Place, Knaresborough, North Yorkshire, HG5 8AG. The market is a short walk from Knaresborough railway station, with regular trains from Leeds, York and Harrogate.
