The Sue Ryder Starlight Hike Leeds is set to return on Saturday 18 October 2025, offering a moving evening under the stars in memory of loved ones. The event invites families, friends, and individuals to take part in a 5k or 10k walk through the historic streets of Otley in support of Sue Ryder’s end-of-life and bereavement care services.

The annual event, kindly sponsored by Amy Matthews Limited Property Management, will once again begin at Prince Henry’s Grammar School. Registration opens at 5.30pm, with live entertainment building the atmosphere ahead of the walk’s start at 7pm. Participants will journey through Otley, cross the River Wharfe, and walk in the shadow of the iconic Chevin, all while reflecting and remembering those who have passed.

Marshal points throughout the route will be sponsored by Skipton Building Society and Newstead & Walker Solicitors, ensuring a safe and welcoming experience for all attendees.

Supporting Sustainability

In line with Sue Ryder’s commitment to sustainability, this year’s hike will include a donation station for pre-loved clothing. Items donated will be sold in Sue Ryder charity shops to raise funds and reduce waste.

Get Involved

Standard entry starts from £20 per adult and includes a t-shirt and medal. Teams of five or more can use the code TEAM20 to receive 20% off their registration fee.

Participants are encouraged to raise a suggested sponsorship of £100 or more, helping to fund Sue Ryder’s compassionate services. Entry fees cover event costs, but it’s the fundraising that supports care for those facing death or grief.
